OptiCell SMART comprises three series with a total of eleven different alternating air mattress system. The Staebel OptiCell SMART R8 Mattress with Pump sets out to improve the efficiency of the care staff and the time that has been spent on developing an easy-to-use and intuitive panel.

In addition, the learning time is drastically reduced as the same pump is used regardless of the mattress. The pump has built-in features such as:

• Automatic adjustment to the user’s weight and position in bed.
• Automatic return to normal mode after nursing mode.
• Battery saves pump settings in case of power failure

On the Staebel OptiCell SMART R8 Mattress you can easily and quickly decouple individual cells without affecting the mattress’s function. Each individual cell has a built-in check valve that can be released with a simple hand movement. Because of this the cell can now remain in the mattress case or be removed completely.

The Staebel OptiCell SMART R8 Mattress has an alternating mode means that the cells in an air mattress are alternately filled and emptied. The low cell rises up completely before the high cell drops off, ensuring no movement up or down. This is unique to OptiCell’s.

A problem that can sometimes arise in traditional alternating mattresses is that when the cells alternate, the user may feel that they are sinking down and then rising up again. This can easily lead to something similar to seasickness. The Opticell avoids that feeling.
