The CuroCell Area Zone Reactive Hybrid Mattress is used as an aid in the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries up to and including stage 3. The mattress combines the comfort of the foam with the pressure-relieving properties of air, containing 9 air cells divided into zones, adapting to the individual. The valve system allows air flow between the chambers, which in turn provides a unique, custom low-pressure profile for any patient. Upon ingress, a natural chain of events begins in each of the connected air chambers. The slow-release valves allow for pressure changes to take place very gently.
The CuroCell Area Zone is designed with an inner anti-shear layer between the outer cover and inner foam, whereby shear is one of the leading known causes for pressure injury development. The CuroCell Area Zone can be used in all types of care environments and is easy to handle and maintain, making it a suitable option if looking to reduce mattress maintenance or in regions where the power supply is unstable and of concern.
