The Staebel Relax GelCell G2 Cushion is a unique combination of AIR and GEL technology, enabling personalised pressure redistribution and comfort to the very high-risk user. The GelCell G2 consists of 48 interconnected cells, each covered with a layer of pressure-relieving silicone-based TruGel.
The immersion by use of air as the medium in the cushion maintains capillary function in the tissue, ensuring blood flow and oxygen uptake. When pressure is applied, air circulates to each of the cells, distributing weight evenly, thus reducing high-pressure concentrations around bony prominences. The GelCell G2 has a positive effect on temperature management due to the interconnected air cell design, permitting air circulation across the cushion.
In addition to the standard GelCell model, the GelCell G2 offers a greater number of cells in the posterior region and contouring across the cushion surface to promote greater envelopment. Left and right air chambers are also present for lateral adjustments required.
